Welcome to the website for the East Livingston Baptist Church in Reynoldsburg, Ohio! Let me tell you a little about ourselves. As you might have already seen, our congregation is a member of the Columbus Baptist Association, American Baptist Churches of Ohio, and the ABC/USA. Born out of a desire to expand the gospel of Jesus Christ into the growing area east of Columbus, we were founded by a cooperative effort of national, state and local American Baptist organizations in the early 1960's. Some of our important distinctions are:
The congregation celebrated a milestone in 2002 with the dedication of an addition to the church building, including a baptistery, a Fellowship Hall and a Recreation Room. These beautiful new spaces have provided many new opportunities for a variety of ministry activities.
Our worship service at 11:00 on Sunday mornings seeks to blend a traditional approach with elements of contemporary worship. We begin our service by singing a familiar hymn accompanied by our piano. Later in the service, however, we worship God with praise songs accompanied by a guitar or keyboard. Whether traditional or contemporary, our focus is always on a spiritually uplifting experience of glorifying God and seeking God's presence.
It has been my pleasure to serve as pastor of the East Livingston Baptist Church since December of 2003. I was ordained in the American Baptist Churches in 1977, and have served as a professional church leader with five other congregations, all in Ohio. My wife and I were married in 1985, and we have three adult children, one son who is a student at Capital University, and one granddaughter. Our family is pleased to be a part of the family of God at East Livingston Baptist Church.
